Where to go for all the best events in town this week
It’s Christmas week in Morzine and while everyone is hoping for a white Christmas there is plenty going on in town to keep people entertained.
Monday 19th December
Monday night sees Rhodos hosting their Open Mic night, with a free shot for all performers. Go on you know you want to...
Tuesday 20th December
The new Planks Clothing store has their opening party on Tuesday, at their store on Rue Du Bourg from 15:00 to 20:00 and then moves next door to Chez Roger, with drinks deals and a charity raffle. At Cafe Chaud the weekly Action Academy Beer Pong tournament will be taking place. For anyone looking for something with a bit more culture Lois Vero will have an art exhibition in Satellite Cafe from 19:30.
Wednesday 21st December
On Wednesday Happy Hours bar in Ardent will be the place to be as they host the Eskimo Ball from 15:00 to 19:00. There will be 2 arenas with DJs and live music. There will also be a Santa’s grotto photo booth, Christmas karaoke, confetti canons and Christmas inflatables. There will be a free shuttle service to bring people back to town after the normal buses finish. For anyone with real staying power Paradis is open late into the night. Wednesday is Gin and Juice night with plenty of 90's hip hop, RnB and garage classics.
Thursday 22nd December
On Thursday night Bec Jaune will have their language exchange night for anyone wanting to brush up on their French, or try their hand at any other languages. They are also selling gift vouchers in case anyone has forgotten their Christmas presents as well as their “Christmas Negroni” cocktail - Campari, Martini Bianco, and Christmas infused gin.
Saturday 24th December
Christmas eve is the big night and there is plenty going on. Cavern are staying open till 03:00 with a tinsel and Christmas jumper night and guaranteed cheesy festive music. Cafe Chaud are also throwing a Christmas themed party, with carols, egg nog and a possible visit from the big man in the red suit as well! At Paradis, Saturday night is the “Excuse My French” night hosted by Ronan Gravier.
Sunday 25th December
l'Aubegarde has plenty going on this week. On Christmas day they are serving Christmas dinner between 12:00 and 21:00. 1 course will cost 16 euros and 5 courses will be 28 euros. Spaces are filling up fast though so get booking! They currently have a “12 cocktails of Christmas” promotion, featuring a different cocktail every night in the build up to Christmas. They also have meal deals every day - at lunch time any burger, wrap, salad or burrito is 10 euros between 12:00 and 15:00, including a drink. Every evening they have a deal for 4 plates of tapas and a bottle of wine for 26 euros. On Thursday night they have a Planks Clothing night showing ski films with plenty of giveaways. Christmas eve is another Christmas jumper night, so make the rounds of town and get your most hideous jumper seen.
