What's on in Morzine this week 13th March 2017

It’s St Patrick’s Day this Friday and there’s lots going on during the week in the build up to the big night.

Here's our pick of the best events, parties and places to go in Morzine and Les Gets this week.

Monday 13th March

The week starts with live apres ski from Coco And The Butterfields at La Kinkerne at the bottom of Prodains between 16:00 and 20:00. In town there is also live music at Rhodos for their Open Mic Night with a free shot or soft drink for every performer between 17:00 and 19:00.

At Le Cottage you can get your skis or snowboard waxed for free if you spend more than ten euros. From 23:00 Cafe Chaud have their weekly punk night with live music from The Box Of Punk. From midnight there is Pstrance/Tribe Hardtek at Paradis with free entry before 01:00.

Head to La Pivotte restaurant in Les Gets for their Savoyarde evening which takes place every Monday until the end of the season.

Tuesday 14th March

On Tuesday ESF will be doing a torchlit descent on the Pleney from around 18:00 with a cup of free vin chaud to all those attending.

La Kinkerne have Tequila Tuesday with Mexican specials on the menu. There is live music at Marmotte D’Or in Montriond from 20:00 with a free shuttle service from Morzine and Cafe Chaud have Morzine’s only Beer Pong tournament from 22:00.

If you're in Les Gets try the oyster tasting evening at La Biskatcha restaurant from 17:00 - 19:30, every Tuesday until the end of the season.

Wednesday 15th March

During the day the second Girls Shred Day will be taking place in the Chapelle park, with informal coaching and a jam session with prizes to be won. With the current spring like weather there will then be a barbecue at Le Cottage and after party with music from Ophelia Bird.

La Kinkerne have two for one burgers all afternoon and at Happy Hours at the bottom of Ardent, there is a special offer - beer and a burger for ten euros - between 14:00 and 15:00. From 15:00 Happy Hours have their weekly We Are The Apres party with DJs Tom Hiseman and Charlie Wright playing Hip Hop, House, Bassline, Garage and Drum and Bass. The party goes on til 19:00 with a free shuttle service after the last bus.

Inferno, on the Nyon Plateau, also have their weekly Apres Ski Mountain Meal party with food and drink deals and DJs. At Cafe Chaud it’s the weekly house night from 22:00 and more house/techno at Le Paradis from midnight.

Thursday 16th March

Thursdays are wine and dine deal nights at La Kinkerne during the afternoon with a special price for two meals and a bottle of wine.

Squid Lips will be playing live at Le Cottage from 16:00. Beanies have live music from 20:30 and then it’s Thirsty Thursday at Paradis from midnight.

Friday 17th March

It’s St Patrick’s Day, so where is the best place to go and celebrate? In Morzine there will be live Irish music from 17:00 at Dixie Bar and traditional Celtic music at Beanies from 20:30.

In Montriond, Marmotte D’Or, the only Irish-owned bar in the valley, will be having a huge party with live music from Do Fa Do between 17:00 and 19:30 and again between 20:30 and 22:30. Pints of Guinness will be six euros and there will be a traditional Irish stew.

Anyone hoping to enter the final ever Cavern 24/7 film competition should head to The Cavern at some point to sign up. At Cafe Chaud local microbrewery Ibex will be taking over and selling a selection of their locally brewed beers. There will also be live music from Eugene Carton.

Saturday 18th March

On Saturday there is a two for one deal on selected cocktails at La Kinkerne, live apres music at Le Cottage and the White Trash punk rock jukebox night at Paradis from midnight.

Catch up with some live music in Les Gets at La Biskatcha restaurant where Abacus will be playing live.

All the six nations rugby games will be shown on the big screen at L’Aubergade.

Sunday 19th March

For a more relaxing Sunday afternoon head to L’Aubergade for a traditional Sunday Roast.

There’s also live music at Happy Hours from 15:00 and the weekly bass nights at Coyote and Cafe Chaud from 22:00 followed by Sunday Night Fever at Paradis.

Sunday also sees the start of the Snowboxx Festival in Avoriaz. Today you'll be able to buy day tickets for Basement Jazz and High Contrast. Find all the tickets and the rest of the line up.
