Founded in 1987 in Tignes with a pioneering philosophy towards both teaching and service, Evolution 2 has grown over the years with offices throughout the French Alps.

Located at the bottom of the Jardin des Enfants in Avoriaz, Evolution 2 offers excellent ski instructing as well as many other activities.

Ski & Snowboard Lessons

For ski and snowboard, group lessons run from Sunday to Friday every morning for two and a half hours. Groups are limited to a maximum of eight to ensure that the classes are not too large and the instructors are able to focus on each person in turn. The levels offered are beginner, intermediate and advanced.

Private lessons can also be booked, for one or two people. These can be tailored to suit the individual's needs. They can be an hour and a half, two hours or three hours. They can teach any standard, from complete beginner to advanced.

'Engagement' is an option best suited to families or small groups of friends. It is offered to groups of up to five people, although extra people can be added. This service offers an instructor for either half a day or a full day and allows skiers to discover the whole Portes du Soleil ski area. The instructors are flexible and will adapt the service to the customers needs and ability.

The Freeride option is only available to intermediate or advanced skiers and snowboarders, in groups of six maximum. Expert local guides will introduce clients to some of the amazing off piste terrain in the Portes du Soleil and offer the chance to try some untouched snow. Avalanche kit is provided, with the option of an ABS bag as well. There is also the possibility of a helicopter pick up, for groups of no more than four.

Paragliding

Away from skiing and snowboarding there is also plenty to choose from. Paragliding is offered with the option of either taking off on skis or on foot. Flights from Super Morzine take you 700 metres down to Morzine town. The classic flight, which lasts ten to twenty minutes depending on conditions, takes you straight to Morzine and costs 75 euros.

The sensation flight, at 95 euros, offers a similar flight, but with "radical turns" at the end. The Cross Prestige Flight, also 95 euros, crosses the valley from Avoriaz to Morzine and lasts 30 to 45 minutes. From the top of the Chaux Fleurie lift it is possible to paraglide all the way to the village of Ardent, a total descent of 850 metres vertical. This option is only available if you take off on skis.

Similarly, the option from Col Du Fornet is also only available to skiers. This has a total vertical descent of 1,200 metres and takes you down the Valle de la Manche to Morzine. This is a total vertical descent of 1,200 metres.

Helicopter Flights

Staying airborne, Evolution 2 also offer helicopter flights, 70 euros for a ten minute flight around Avoriaz and Morzine.

Snowshoeing

Getting back down to earth, snow shoeing is offered from 25 euros. There is a huge variety of walks for all levels of fitness. A lot of them take place in a local nature reserve where it is possible to see Chamois, the local mountain goat. The guide is passionate about the mountains and will share his knowledge to ensure a fascinating and memorable experience. This is offered to groups of twelve, although more can be added on request.

An alternative option, at 60 euros, offers a night time snowshoeing experience and traditional mountain meal. When the sun goes down, the guide will begin an hour and a half walk in the mountains near Les Gets to reach a mountain hut. Following a traditional meal, a half hour walk brings clients back to the minibus where they will be driven home.

Night Sledging

Another evening option is night sledging, for 20 euros. After the runs close for the day up to sixty people can sledge down from Avoriaz to the bottom of Prodains, where they can get the lift back up. This is a fun activity for those who haven't been too tired out by their day on the slopes!

Caving

Caving is also offered, depending on conditions. For 55 euros it is possible to take a three to four kilometre trip through the caves either near Megeve or Avoriaz, under cliffs laden with snow.

Snowmobiling

Another activity to consider after the lifts have closed is snowmobiling. On the Cretes de Zore, on Super Morzine, after 5pm, it is possible to do two laps for 120 euros, following a guide. It is also possible to ride two to a snowmobile and pay 60 euros each for a lap.
