Another firm favourite for football fans is the Sherpa Bar. Bar Robinson

One popular bar in town where people might not be used to watching sports events is Bar Robinson. However, with the installation of a large TV a couple of years ago it is becoming an increasingly popular venue to watch rugby and football matches. Two years ago the bar stayed open late to show the European Championship final between France and Portugal, and there could be another special event depending on how far France progress this year. However, with only Mutzig beer on tap the question is whether drinkers can make it all the way through a ninety minute match plus extra time and still remember the result the next day.

Cavern Bar

The always popular Cavern Bar will also be showing games throughout the tournament on the numerous TVs to be found in the bar. As well as all these options The Rhodos, at the bottom of the Rue Du Bourg, will be showing games on the various TVs in the bar, and also offers food throughout the day from breakfast through to dinner. For anyone looking to enjoy the games on a sunny terrace during the day without having to go to a bar, O Chalet restaurant will be showing games on their huge outside TV whilst serving up some of the tastiest burgers, wraps, and paninis in Morzine.

This is a selection of some of the best options for watching the World Cup whilst in Morzine. There should be an option somewhere amongst them to suit all tastes. It is a good idea to check the game times against the opening times for the bars. The tournament begins this coming week on June 14th, with England playing Tunisia on Monday the 18th. France play a couple of days earlier, on Saturday the 16th. Both sets of fans will not doubt be hoping to see their respective teams progress, and possibly even meet at a later date in the tournament.
