What's On in Morzine New Year's Eve 2017
Say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018 in Morzine
To help you choose where to celebrate, we've selected some of the best parties in resort for you to welcome 2018 with a bang.
It’s New Year's time and there’s plenty going on in and around Morzine this year!
At 18:30, the celebrations start as the local ESF will be holding a torchlight descent on the slopes of the Pleney with fireworks. Following this, from 22:00 till 01:00, the tourist office square will be turned into a dancefloor with DJs and a countdown to the New Year. These events are free to all.
La Marmotte d’Or will be hosting an apres session from 17:00 to 20:00 with DJ Ben GC providing music. It will be a good way to get the evening started, or if you have children it means they can have a little party before bedtime!
The Chanterelle in Cote d’Arbroz are offering a special evening which, with all the recent snowfall, promises to be a spectacular way to see in the New Year. For 75€, they will pick you up from your home address (and drop you back at the end of the night) and bring you to the secluded mountain restaurant where you will be served a gourmet meal finished off with spiced rum. At midnight, they will serve champagne as they set off their fireworks. Local DJ Candyman will be on hand to provide the tunes for the night. This is a great option for anyone with children who wants to be able to take them out for the evening.
In the centre of Morzine Clin d’Oeil restaurant is also offering a New Year's Eve evening with both a 45€ and 58€ menu. There are two sittings for this evening, one at 18:30 and one at 21:25, meaning that it’s possible to time it so you can see the fireworks earlier in the evening and be back out in time to see in the New Year in the town square after dinner.
Elsewhere in town, The Cavern Bar has tickets on sale for their New Year's Eve party. Tickets are 10€ each and there is a free drink if you arrive before 22:00. They will be open till very late for anyone with the stamina to keep going and they promise a few surprises throughout the night.
Le Cottage will see hip-hop trio Fools For Thought kick off their European Alpine Tour with a set that will combine classics with original material. Tickets are 5€ each and can be purchased from the Aubergade or Cottage. Tickets also include a 10% off deal at the Aubergade on New Year's Eve and two for one deals on Bloody Marys at the Kinkerne to help recovery on New Year's Day. There will also be a DJ on hand to provide the tunes between the band’s sets.
Rhodos Bar will be hosting a “masque ball” with tickets on sale for 5€ (7.50€ on the door). The party will be going on till 03:00 with a balloon drop at midnight.
Beanies will be throwing a New Year's Eve party with music from Remey Sounds and a huge surprise giveaway. Tickets are 10€.
Cafe Chaud will have DJ Von Hiseman playing tunes from every genre of music till 05:00. With free shots, face paint and glow sticks it’s going to get messy!
Paradis Nightclub is also opening its doors with four-time world DJ Champion and World DMC Champion Mr Switch on the turntables. Tickets for this event are 10€ in advance, available from the Hideout Bar. This event also runs till 05:00. This is sure to be a big one!
