Winter is fast approaching and there's even been a bit of fresh snow on the mountain tops in Avoriaz in the last few weeks.

As ever at this time of year we're getting ready for the coming winter and there's plenty of new developments and news to share with you. Find out what's new in Morzine & Les Gets this winter.

AliKats Mountain Holidays expand their portfolio

AliKats pride themselves on the quality of their chalets and this winter they'll be offering 3 more gorgeous properties to guests; Chalet La Grande Ourse, Chalet La Petite Ourse and 'The View' an exceptional new build. All three of the chalets are located in Morzine and The View is the first of their chalets to offer their new 'Indulgence Package, ' highlights of which include Vintage Bollinger champagne on arrival, a six-course taster menu by AliKats executive chef, Kat Judge, fine wines with dinner matched by AliKats’ wine consultant and pre-dinner cocktails and digestifs.

Renovations at Hotel La Bergerie

La Bergerie hotel have been undertaking some refurbishments, which include makeovers on their 6 smallest rooms, they've added room service, a new outdoor sauna and hammam (next to the swimming pool) and a fitness room with 5 cardio machines.

Winter - Intensive French Courses, Morzine

New French courses for skiers & non-skiers

Parlez-vous Français? Maximise your time in Morzine this winter and learn to speak French in an intensive language course with Alpine French School. Learn to speak French in real life, useful situations. You can ski or snowboard most of the day and then head back to town for lessons.

Mountain Spaces celebrate 10 years

Mountain Spaces holiday company are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. Keep an eye on their social media channels over the next few weeks as they'll be giving away 10 free catered holidays to celebrate every year they've been in business. New Ski lift in Les Gets

Work has been going on all summer to install the new high speed Ranfoilly ski lift in Les Gets. The 6-seater lift will be accessed via a magic carpet and will carry in the region of 3,300 skiers per hour. Check out the location on the Les Gets piste map.

Alpine Residences increase their portfolio

Alpine Residences have added two more chalets in the Kilimandjaro development in Les Gets. The development is located in a quiet area called the Olympiades, only 600m from the centre of Les Gets and 200m from the nearest free shuttle service. Chalet 5a (79m2) can accommodate up to 6 people with 2 double rooms and 1 twin. Chalet 6 (140m2) can accommodate up to 10 people with 3 double room, 1 twin and 1 cabin with bunk beds.

More Mountain expands its luxury offer

More Mountain have expanded to include three new mountain retreats, which are launching ready for winter 2017-18. They've added one new catered chalet and two new self-catered apartments to their portfolio of stylish and contemporary accommodation offerings. Every retreat is centrally located and encompasses a home vibe with the benefits of five star accommodation. Providing quality in-chalet entertainment are games consoles, UK TV and Bose & SONOS systems, as well as free WiFi for convenience. Classic furniture and fittings have been thoughtfully selected to balance style with practicality, and include Florence Knoll sofas, Barcelona chairs, Eames chairs and Tom Dixon lighting. For the ultimate in comfort, each bedroom is equipped with waffle bathrobes, fluffy towels, crisp Egyptian cotton linen and luxury MALIN+GOETZ amenities.

New games bar to open in Les Gets

Loc'Hotel Alpen'sports in Les Gets are going to be opening a new games bar in time for winter, just next to the hotel in the old village. They'll have a pool table, table football, darts, pinball and plenty of board games to keep you entertained. For children there will be a toy library and they'll also have a small snack restaurant inside, making it a great place to hang out with friends and family after a day on the mountain.

Morzine & Les Gets ski lifts are set to open on 16th December 2017, with the remainder of the Portes du Soleil ski area opening (snow cover permitting) from 23rd December.
