Pass'portes du Soleil MTB 2017 route change

Re-routing around Morgins this summer

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Morzine Editor Updated

The 14th edition of the Pass'portes du Soleil MTB fesitval takes place from 23rd to 25th June this year and there have been a few changes to the route for 2017.

Route changes have only been made on the Swiss side, as Morgins/Champoussin lift will not be operating over the summer.

Morgins are having financial difficulties and it's feared that they may not even be able to open up again this coming winter. A small statement on their website mentions the issues they're facing and points readers to a letter and a link to a crowdfunding page.

The Pass'portes 2017 route will now lead riders through Champery and Les Crosets, where the lifts will still be operating, to the top of Mossettes and then past Morgins. Take a look at the 2017 route map, with the new trail sections around Morgins highlighted.

The event village will be held in Les Gets this year, with in the region of 7,000 mountain bikers expected to take part. As well as the main event there is also a Kids Pass'Portes circuit, one for pedestrians, a night ride with Hope lights and an E-bike circuit. Find out how to register for any remaining places
