Lift pass recycling scheme to support chairities

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Morzine Editor Updated

Local company Mountain Spaces have had a busy few years, growing their portfolio of catered and self catered chalets as well as their team as the business expands.

This year, in addition to growing their business, they're also going to be supporting a non-profit charity organisation and are looking for all their winter guests to help hit the target they've set for fundraising.

GiveWell was set up to help people wanting to make charitable donations, by shortlisting different charitable causes that make the biggest change to peoples lives per pound or euro spent, enabling donors to accomplish the most good possible with their money.

Mountain Spaces are committing to donating at least €1500 to the organisation by the end of the season by asking all of their guests to recycle all of their hands-free lift passes. For every pass returned to them over the course of the season, they will donate the 3 euros for the cost of the card to GiveWell.

Company owner Chris told us "It's like doing a two for one - we get to recycle and donate to charity at the same time and it's also a really easy way to ask guests to participate. Based on the lift passes we sold last year we think we can raise at least €1500 and if we raise more, happy days".

If you're staying with Mountain Spaces this winter, make sure you remember to hand over your lift passes when you leave!
