Crankworx Les Gets gets off to a flying start
Whip-off competition kicks off the 1st edition of Crankworx in Les Gets
The weather thankfully held off long enough for yesterday's European whip off competition in Les Gets to take place and spectators were treated to huge air and lots of style as competitors battled it out for the prize money.
The wooden booter leading into the jump was quite slick, leading a lot of the riders to tone down their jumps a little, but that didn't stop some huge air and impressive whips being laid down.
From around 80 competitors emerged 20 finalists, and commentator Cam McCaul had a hard time picking winners. Here are the final results -
Men's Whip-off results
Bernardo CRUZ (BRA)
Ryan ‘R-Dogg’ HOWARD (USA)
Louis REBOUL (FRA)
Women's Whip-off results
Casey BROWN (CAN)
Jill KINTNER (USA)
Elizabeth REDZBETZ (ITA)
Sadly today the bad weather returned and the Dual Speed & Style event, which was going to be live-streamed today, has been put back until tomorrow. Check in on Crankworx, RedBull TV and Pinkbike for the live action.
