In the heart of the pretty resort of Les Gets, this large chalet-style hotel has been owned for 4 generations by the Mirigay family. Ideally located at the foot of the slopes and lifts its a great base for both winter and summer holidays alike.

The hotel has 48 rooms for 2 to 6 people decorated with light wood, and all are equipped with a real attention to detail. Deep pillows and comfortable duvets provide all the rest needed for an unforgettable holiday. All rooms include a TV and WiFi access.

Family suites are also available at the hotel and can accommodate between 4 and 7 people in 45 - 130m2.

After an active day on the mountain, guests can make the most of the hotel's spa which feature a luxurious indoor pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi where you can relax and revive aching muscles. Treatments are also available if you want to truly indulge on your holiday.

For even more choice and modernity, there is a sister hotel which opened its doors in 2012. With 8 stylish and welcoming rooms, located above the spa and pool and directly.

Worth knowing...

You can hire electric bikes from the hotel if you stay as a summer guest.

The Pool

The overflowing indoor pool adds to the sophisticated alpine environment that the hotel has created and is built within wooden and stone walls. There is a small section at one end of the pool with sun-loungers where you can relax after a refreshing swim.

During the winter months, the pool is open between 10:00 - 12:00 and from 16:00 - 20:00. There is a lifeguard present, but parents remain responsible for the safety of their children and may not leave them unattended.  In the summer the pools is open from 08:30 - 20:00 unsupervised.

The Bar

The bar is a refreshing combination of chic alpine furnishings and modern quirky eccentricity. There are comfortable leather sofas with sheep skin cushions, colourful chairs, art deco lights and log fires. The bar serves a range of aperitifs, wines and beers as well as tea coffee and home-made pastries during the day. Take a look at the menu.

The Restaurant

Unlike most hotels, La Marmotte wanted to ensure that its guests had a choice of dining options and consequently offers their guests a choice of three restaurants. You'll find classic French and International cuisine with a modern twist at the La Piste Noire, traditional Savoyard specialities at La Pivotte and a Brassiere Grill restaurant, Biskatcha.

The hotel offers both B&B as well as half board rates.

Families & Kids

Children are welcome at the hotel and for those that are looking to take some time to themselves whilst on holiday, baby-sitting is available on request.

There is a leisure room for the youngest children with early learning games and books. For the older children there is a games room with table football, able tennis and arcade games.

Cots, baby monitors, baby bathtubs and high chairs are also available on request. There is free access to a microwave to heat up feeding bottles / meal at any time. For evening meals, from 19:15 every day the children's section of the restaurant opens where they will be supervised so you can enjoy a meal separately.

Transfers

You’ll need to book your own transfers, when staying here. Your main options are shared or private transfers, but consider whether you would prefer a door-to-door service or a (generally cheaper) “communal” drop-off point at your destination.

Cycle Hire

You’ll need to organise your own bike hire when staying here.  Things to consider are the type of bike you want to rent such as road, mountain, hard trail and/or an electric bike; and whether you’ll need helmets and protective clothing with your rental. You’re best off choosing a shop that is close to your accommodation for ease of access, and making it quicker to return the bike and pay at the end. Some companies may also deliver so it’s worth looking at all the options.

Ski Hire

You’ll need to book your own ski hire, when staying here. There are many choices for hiring equipment. Generally, you’re best off choosing somewhere close for ease of access, & less far to carry your kit, easier to make changes, and quicker to return and pay at the end. Nevertheless, many suppliers will deliver and some snow-front rental stores offer ski lockers, so it’s worth checking out all the options.

Lifts & Passes

You’ll need to buy your own lift pass, when staying here. Lift passes can be booked online or bought in resort on arrival. Instructors & Lessons

When staying here, you’ll need to book  your own ski or snowboard lessons. Tuition is strongly recommended for complete beginners and is always a good idea whatever your level to perfect your technique. Group lessons are a great way for children to learn with their peers whilst giving you some free time on the slopes. Groups are also a generally cheaper option for adults, however, with a private instructor you’ll have undivided attention and be able to progress at your own pace.

Guides & Tours

When staying here, you’ll need to book your own Guides & Tours, which are a great way to discover Morzine whilst doing a number of fun activities. Not only do they know the best local spots, these highly trained and experienced individuals are very familiar with the surroundings and can provide loads of insights you won’t get by yourself, as well as helping to ensure your safety.

Reviews

  • "In 20 years, this is the first time time my wife wants to return to a hotel, that's how good it was. Thierry is fantastic and really made us feel welcomed, spoilt and sooo well looked after. He was absolutely brilliant. He has been with the hotel for 24 years and makes every guest feel so personally cared for. The facilities are top class and the choice of three restaurants was a huge plus as being there for a week we appreciated the diversity. Pool, spa and games room facilities all brilliant. As importantly this town has a lovely feel to it - alpine ambiance, friendly people, caring attitude amongst shop, restaurant, bar owners. Wonderful alpine retreat - we will be returning!" - Trip Advisor
