La Clef des Champs Chalet-Hotel, Morzine

Fantastic ski to the door hotel with pool and spa facilities

featured in Hotels

This charming hotel is open in both the winter and the summer seasons and has been run by the same family for three generations. It offers brilliant quality piste side accommodation in Morzine.

Ideally situated in the centre of resort, yet far enough away from the evenings activities to get a good night sleep. The hotel is also right next to the piste so you can ski back to the door at the end of the day and the Pleney lift is just a two minute walk down road.

Inside the hotel itself you can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere decorated in a traditional alpine style with bright Savoyard colours. All their spacious rooms (which include family rooms) are equipped with flat screen TVs, free WiFi access and hair dryers. Many of them also include a balcony from which you can enjoy the stunning mountain scenery.

After a day on the mountain you can look forward to relaxing in their spa which features a jacuzzi and steam room. Massage and Beauty treatments are also available for those that want to treat themselves to something extra.

The pool

The hotel's heated outdoor pool is open winter and summer; covered and heated in the winter and open-air during summer. Situated right next to the piste you can enjoy the fantastic mountain views whilst you splash about in the water.

The Bar

The bar is the perfect spot for an apres ski drink or a digestif following a delicious meal in their restaurant. Is decorated in a contemporary alpine style with comfortable sofas and arm chairs centre around a roaring log fire. The bar serves everything you would expect from cocktails, spirits to fine wines and beers. There is also a pool-table for those that want to enjoy a social game or two.

The Restaurant

The restaurant is open for all three meals and full board, half board and B&B rates are available. Their head chef, Pierre, offers fantastic flavoursome traditional French cuisine using fresh local ingredients.

Visitor comments

  • "A wonderful family run hotel, with charming and attentive staff. We'd booked for a week of skiing in January this year, and completely lucked out with our choice of hotel. Away from the thud of the 'in town' bars and restaurants, this hotel is a gem and offers first class accommodation and restaurant food that ensures you don't want to bother to dine anywhere else! Breakfasts are varied and plentiful, offering everything you could want ahead of a days skiing. Dinner every night was faultless - well balanced with thought through menu's and a very good wine list to compliment your food choices. Thursday nights are pudding nights...a table literally groaning with puddings that you can try (in however many multiples!) and all served up by truly charming, helpful and friendly staff. Very good value for first class food, spotless and comfortable rooms and overall a lovely, chilled week. I'd recommend this hotel again and again!" - Trip Advisor
  • "I don't really want to tell everyone about this hotel, it is so fabulous I'd rather keep it a secret but ultimately I liked it so much I want to tell everyone why. I booked this hotel for a week long ski break in January. The hotel has a fantastic option that you can book bed and breakfast and then add as many nights dinner as you want. I booked 7 days B and B and then had dinner in the hotel for 4 nights, essentially 4 nights half board. This is so flexible and allows you to experience the restaurants and bars in Morzine without feeling like you are wasting the cost of a half board booking. The hotel interiors are lovely. The bar has an open fire and nice cow inspired furnishings...really cozy and relaxing. The bar is reasonably priced and the local bear is really refreshing. The food at the hotel is absolutely wonderful. You get a four course dinner that would not be out of place for a 5 star hotel. It is also competitively priced when you book as a half board option. Breakfasts are varied and filling to set you up for a days skiing. Sylvie and her husband were really kind and helpful. They always had a smile and the hotel seemed to run like a well oiled machine. Both speak good English if you need any help and all the staff were very kind and friendly and were really patient with my terrible French! I really could not recommend this hotel more. I doubt you would get a better hotel for the competitive price. Book directly with the hotel, Sylvie answered my emails in well drafted English and understood any queries I had. We will definitely be going back....Fabulous!" - Trip Advisor
