La Chaumiere Chalet Hotel, Morzine

24 bedroom chalet-hotel in Morzine, 20 metres from the pistes

featured in Hotels

This chalet hotel is situated just 20 metres from the Pleney piste and a short 10-minute walk from the centre of Morzine.

Boasting a ski in / ski out location (conditions permitting) and small heated swimming pool, la Chaumiere is one of Morzine’s most authentic and highly revered chalet-hotels. Set at the foot of the Pleney mountain immediately below one of the main ‘home runs’, it is possible to ski to within 60 metres. The Pleney cable car and village centre are a 10 minute walk or quick in-house shuttle ride away.

The hotel has a mix of contemporary and traditional design which results in all the charm of the past alongside chic furnishings and modern conveniences. Husband and wife team Michele and Franck (alongside daughter Margot and son Julien) work tirelessly to create a special place to stay.

The hotel has 24 newly renovated and individually designed ensuite bedrooms which are tastefully furnished and have everything you need on a ski holiday. All beds are ‘zip and link’, hence can be made up as twin or double – or choose from larger triple and family quad rooms. Bedrooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean, and well equipped with television, WiFi, kettle, bathrobes, telephone, hairdryer, heated towel rails and a shared balcony with wonderful mountain views.

For relaxation, there is an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool and in the summer months, there is a lovely terrace surrounding the pool where you can enjoy a refreshing drink.

Visitor comments

  • "Our stay here was top notch, the rooms were warm, beds were very comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were lovely and helpful. The food was brilliant, high quality and was clearly prepared with a lot of effort, tasted amazing. The hotel is situated a little way outside of the centre (a walkable distance, maybe not in ski boots) Julian gave us a lift to the lifts each day and even on a couple of occasions took us to the Prodain lift as this gives you much quicker access to aAvoriazthan the Super Morzine lift, this was definitely out of his way and was above and beyond, thank you! The hotel has a nice atmosphere and is wel decorated, it's a pleasant place to be. If I return to morzine I shall definitely look to stay again no hesitation." - Trip Advisor
  • "This was the second time my friend and I have stayed at La Chaumiere through and once again it did not disappoint. There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said in previous reviews, the food is great, the location is great, the rooms are comfortable, the shuttle runs are brilliant etc but it really is the people that make this hotel. When you arrive you are greeted by Michele and welcomed to her "home" and it really does feel like that. From that initial welcome to when you leave you are treated like family by the staff, greeting you and making sure you are happy, they really seem to care that you have a great time while at their hotel. Special mention also to Franck who is probably the hardest working but happiest guy I have ever met! Will definitely return." - Trip Advisor
  • "A really lovely hotel. We were made so welcome by Michelle and her family - relaxed and kind. The hot swimming pool at the end of a day's skiing was delicious. The beds were fantastically comfortable and the restaurant is excellent. Thoroughly recommended all round. Thanks for a great holiday." - Trip Advisor
  • "Went for a family holiday in February half term and could not have been happier with our choice of chalet/hotel. The welcome was warm throughout our stay, the food was excellent, choice of wine perfect, communal areas comfortable and truly felt like home. Although the hotel isn't right in the middle of Morzine, it's only a very short walk and there is a complimentary minibus service which was excellent." - Trip Advisor
