Morzine Dump Alert: 13th March 2018

Following a weekend of heavy rain in resort, with snow higher up the mountain, the snow has finally returned to Morzine!

The freezing level has been fluctuating for the last few days, with snow at the top of Pleney at times but rain in Avoriaz at other times, but now the temperature has dropped significantly in town and a significant snowfall is underway. The lower slopes of the Pleney are already benefiting from the fresh snowfall with around five centimetres settling overnight. Conditions higher up the mountain will be even better, as yesterday’s rain in town fell as snow. The freezing level continues to oscillate but overall it is definitely getting colder, so the snow should continue.

Visibility at the moment is poor, however, and the avalanche risk is still high, so be careful!
