Morzine Dump Alert 30th October 2018
It’s not even November yet and the snow has already begun falling across the Portes Du Soleil with between 2 and 5 cm in the valley.
Heavy rainfall over the weekend has brought the first snow of the winter to Morzine. A brief dusting on Sunday morning melted quickly as the rain in town continued. However, snow continued falling on the higher slopes of Avoriaz - although low lying cloud meant it was hard to see just how much was falling. On Monday night the temperature dropped and snow began to fall in Morzine once again.
There is currently around five to ten centimetres of snow on the pistes of the Pleney, so certainly not enough to warrant dusting off the skis just yet. Although it is likely that the snow in town will melt as soon as the sun comes out again in the next couple of days, it’s always good to see Morzine beginning to look wintry once again and it’s a good reminder that the start of winter is just around the corner. Morzine lifts are scheduled to open on December 15th.
The forecast is showing more precipitations in the form of rain later in the week with temperatures rising.
