Things to Do in near Avoriaz

In the summer, Chatel remains a popular destination with mountain bikers, road bikers and also tourists just wanting to experience Alpine life. Easily accessible by lifts, it’s home to the famous Fantasticable zip wire which carries daredevils between two mountains at up to speeds of around 100km an hour. It also has a stunning lake, which is popular with people wanting to try water sports whilst visiting the region.

Directions

Sitting on the Swiss border, Chatel is around a 38km drive from Morzine, a route which is also popular with road bikers travelling around the Portes Du Soleil region. You can reach it easily on the lift system. In winter, it houses thousands of skiiers and boarders wanting to explore the region. As it’s easy to ski to from Avoriaz and Morzine, it’s also a popular stop off destination for people looking for a bite to eat during a long day on the slopes.
