Gee Atherton wins Champery Downhill

by James Fisher | Ski Video Reporter | published 25-Jul-2010

The World Cup Downhill finished yesterday in Champery with Gee Atherton in first place. The UK rider fought of competition from an international field to take the top spot ahead of South African Greg Minnar, Brit Brendan Fairclough and New Zealander Sam Blenkinsop.

Although the track was not as fast as it could have been after the torrential rain that fell during Friday's qualifying stages the skies had cleared yesterday and conditions were better, at least for the spectators.
