Two children injured in sledge accident

Two children aged 5 and 7 were sledging on a closed piste in Les Gets on Saturday evening when they violently struck a piste basher.

The two children were sledging on the Turche piste front at 7 pm when they both collided with the back of a piste basher.
In a serious condition the 5 year old boy was helicoptered to a hospital in Grenoble whilst the 7 year old girl was taken to hospital in Thonon les Bains.
The family from the North of France had just arrived on holiday in Les Gets.

In all French ski resorts it is a by-law offence to be on the pistes after 17:55, the time at which piste grooming normally starts.
