Each year, thousands of desperate refugees do whatever it takes to reach the ferry port at Calais desperately hoping for a better life on British soil.

This heart-wrenching situation has been plastered all over our news feeds in recent times, with the conflict in Syria causing the largest refugee crisis for a quarter of a century.

In an effort to raise awareness of this situation and to raise money in able to help, a few influential people in Morzine have collaborated to bring the town together for a one-off charity fundraiser.

Finest Hour Clothing and L'Aubergade Hotel will welcome "The Zuri Collective" for a one off fundraising event on Sunday 24th January. You heard it correctly, two of Morzine’s favourite live bands; Zuri Aura and Cab Collective will bring their feel-good musical madness together at the L’Aubergade for an evening of music to raise money for L’Auberge Des Migrants – the main charity giving aid to refugees in the Calais ‘Jungle’.

L'Auberge Des Migrants is a grass roots operation that is supported purely by volunteers working to provide shelter, food and warmth for refugees and they need help with fundraising now more than ever. The charity offers assistance for the 7,000 refugees inhabiting the Calais ‘Jungle’ and 300 people in Dunkirk. With the French Government providing a mere 1,500 meals a day in Calais when there are 7,000 that require 3 meals a day, and none in Dunkirk, the situation is bleak.

Finest Hour, a small ski and snowboard start-up company, will be selling hoods, jackets, and hats and donating a percentage of their sales from the night to the charity. The bands' fees will also be going to L'Auberge Des Migrants. The takings from any €1 toffee vodka shots sold will also be donated so make sure you buy one!

Get on down to the L’Aubergade this Sunday. Be prepared to dance and give generously!
