Following the announcement of the first acts to play at the inaugural Transition Festival in December this year, headlined by Dizzee Rascal, Snowboxx have announced that they will be relocating from Alpe D’Huez to Avoriaz this coming winter.

The festival will run from the 12th to the 19th of March, with packages starting from £239. As well as the usual main stage events and apres parties, this year Snowboxx this year will also feature a “village within a village” with food stalls and music throughout the day.

Organisers are promising “tropical waterpark paradises, igloo raves, Snowpark parties and even a stage right in the middle of the slopes, only accessible by ski/snowboard”. There will also be the “ultimate snowball fight” and an attempt to break the onesie world record, set at last year’s event, as well as disco dodgeball, karaoke cabins and a mega beer pong tournament.

The highlight of the festival will be two huge main stage shows for the 4,000 festival goers. Last year featured '2manydjs' and 'Jungle' amongst the acts performing, so expectation is high for the announcement in September of who will be performing.

Snowboxx will coincide with the annual Rock The Pistes festival that takes place throughout the Portes Du Soleil. Previous acts have included Babyshambles, The Klaxons and Lee Scratch Perry. This will mean that festival goers can ski or snowboard to the Rock The Pistes concerts on the mountain and then head to Avoriaz for the evening parties.

In the previous three years the Snowboxx festival has sold out, so those wishing to join the party should get in early and reserve their place.
