Make your pancake treat a fresh French crêpe this Shrove Tuesday.

It might be that your chalet host has offered to make you pancakes for breakfast, or perhaps you’ve already got plans to do the pancake flipping yourself in a self-catered accommodation, but if your looking for an authentic French crêpe made fresh in front of your eyes, why not get one to take away from one of Morzine’s many crêpe huts. We’ve chosen the two best places for takeaway crêpes in the centre of Morzine just for you!

Chez Seb

Sebastian’s Place is just along the road from Office Du Tourisme, opposite Le Schuss Pizza Hut in the centre of town. There in his mini crêpe hut he does some extra special savoury buckwheat pancakes that are definitely worth trying if you’re a savoury over sweet tooth sort of person. Choose from plain cheese, cheese and ham or for a real filling lunchtime crêpe choose an egg, cheese and ham buckwheat pancake for a tasty €6. If your after a sugary treat, Seb’s selection of crepes with jam or salted caramel hit the spot for a cheap and cheerful €3. If your feeling extra indulgent, why not have your crêpe smothered in Nutella with banana or coconut or both? All crepes are wrapped up for you to enjoy straight away – the perfect midday or après ski snack.

Chez Martine

At Martine’s crêpe place, you’re spoilt for choice. Situated on the main strip on the other side of the road from the Pleney Bubble opposite L’Etale Restaurant and L’Opera Club, Martine’s almost always has a queue. Her extensive menu makes for a tricky decision. The majority of her crepes are sweet snacks, and many of her fillings are homemade. Choose from her own cinnamon apple, sugared almond, chocolate mousse, praline, orange cream and salted caramel fillings if your feeling adventurous for €4, we’re certain you won’t be disappointed. The classic combination of lemon and sugar crêpe is a mere €2.90, which you simply can never go wrong with if your overwhelmed by the choice.

So forget the piles of thick American pancakes or buttermilk pancakes, and choose a thin and delicious French crêpe to enjoy your share of Pancake Day this holiday!
