New Lifts Linking Morzine to Avoriaz Are Almost Complete

Replacement lifts on Super Morzine almost ready for winter

The new Proclu and Seraussaix lifts on Super Morzine are finally nearing completion. This area has been long overdue for an upgrade, and the new, faster six man chairs should solve the problems skiers and boarders have encountered previously.

The link from Super Mozine to Avoriaz has long been a bottleneck due to a slow lift system, and in the busiest weeks it is not unheard of to queue for an hour or more.

The Super Morzine area is great for families and beginners, with wide pistes that are not usually too crowded. With this upgrade it will become easier for people to head over to explore Avoriaz as their confidence grows.

The Seraussaix lift has also been moved to the left by about a hundred metres as well as being moved slightly higher. There has always been a flat track there previously, which has been a problem for people returning to Morzine who did not want to drop down to the drag lift below. A new track is being dug in from the top of the new lift which should make things a lot easier.

The lifts will be ready for the opening of Super Morzine in December. Combined with the excellent new Prodains lift which opened in 2013, replacing the slow, antiquated cable car with high speed bubbles and a top station resembling a cross between a London Underground station and a Bond villain's lair (in a good way), it has never been easier to get around the Portes Du Soleil.

And for anyone missing the old lifts, they have been moved over towards Chatel where they will be recycled to link Linga to Super Chatel, meaning an end to the bus ride between areas.
