In Park City, Utah, on Thursday night, Johann Baisamy finished ninth to ensure a place in the finals at round three of the snowboard half pipe world cup.

Baisamy is the only French rider to make it through to the finals, where the top ten qualifiers will battle it out for the win.

Johann Baisamy was born in Evian in 1989 and has represented France at 2014 Winter Olympics, coming 16th overall. He has also been the French champion in 2011 and 2014. He began snowboarding at just four years old and took his first win, as the youngest competitor, at a kids cup event aged just seven years old.
