The Spring break for French schools this year is arriving late, and some resorts & businesses are experiencing a drop in sales, even with the arrival of British school holidaymakers.

The first French school zone going on Spring break isn't until 11th April this year, with the other two zones in the following two weeks, too far into May for some resorts which will already be closed.

This, and the variable snow conditions a lot of resort have been facing, has had a significant impact on bookings and sales, as some families choose to avoid coming skiing so late in the season.

The Ministry of education announced yesterday, however, that for the next three years French Spring break would be brought forward by one week, much to the delight of not only mountain resorts, but the businesses and season workers within them.

French school holidays for next season will be:

Main Winter Holidays

Zone A: 15th to 28th February
Zone B: from 8th to 21th February
Zone C: 22nd February to 6th March

Spring break

Zone A: 11th to 24th April
Zone B: 4th to 17th April
Zone C: from 18th April to 1st May
