A good summer to look forward to in Morzine

Say good bye beanie hats, and hello flip flops - It's officially summer time in Morzine!

With the new season comes a new hang out spot, Rude Café, and the legendary Paradis night club. It's their first summer in Morzine, after re-opening in March this year.

I spoke to Operations Manager Tank (formally of Cavern bar in Morzine) about how he intends to use his years of experience to help re-vamp the business, and what to expect from the venue in the next few months.

“It’s a new challenge - We aim to provide a service which is in keeping with Morzine the community”. Eager to reach a wide audience, I asked what the plan was for Le Paradis club, formally owned by Moulin Rouge Cabaret Dancer Madame Laury and professional musician Franck Weyler. “The main thing is everyone is excited about its potential to entertain. The nightclub is legendary for providing an ambiance that promotes enjoyment and fun and we want to keep it that way!”

With Ibiza DJ’s, flashing light-up walls, leopard print seating even dance poles, Le Paradis certainly adds something different to the bars currently in Morzine. “It brings something that nowhere else can provide.” Says Tank, “It’s one of a kind, exoctic and fun filled – a bit like me!”

But what about something for more a chilled out crowd? Rude Café, attached to the night club, offers a happy hour 7 days a week, 5pm – 6pm with 2-4-1 on pints of Grolsch and Burger/Pizza and a Pint deal following that.

Also exciting and new to the Rude Lodge brand this Summer, they have teamed up with popular mountain bike gear providers Fox, and have some of their professional riders staying at the Lodge at various times throughout the summer, sporting their latest gear. You can get your hands on some of Fox's latest equipment in one of the many quiz nights and beer pong competitions that Rude Café will be putting on throughout the summer.

The grand opening for Rude Café and Le Paradis nightclub will be this Friday, June 19th, with a complimentary welcome drink and food samples such as the Rude Cafés famous pizza served from 5pm, as well as a bonus happy hour from 5pm – 7pm with deals such as 2-4-1 on bottles of Corona.

The opening event is free for everybody to attend and shall be having a special guest appearance from the legendary former owner, Franck Weyler himself, who is intrigued to see how far his former business has come since selling it last year. After food and drinks at the café, feel free to make your way down the stairs to discover Le Paradis, with Rude Café drink prices 11pm – 1am and Happy Hour 1am – 2am.

With Le Paradis open every Friday, Saturday and Tuesday night after this week and Rude Café open 7 nights a week, this Tank Takeover is sure to be one to watch. From ‘In Snow We Trust’ to ‘In Dirt We Trust’, Rude is sure to provide both a laid back and alternative atmosphere for the mountain lovers of Morzine this Summer.
