Alpine Food & Drink
Although not as renowned as the haute cuisine of Paris or the fine bistros of Lyon the Alps do have a number of tasty treats in store for those who like to sample some regional specialities. Meat and cheese feature heavily in Alpine cooking – so it’s just as well there are plenty of mountains where you can work off the extra pounds! ... see "Dining in the Alps" for more
Bars & Clubs
Sunshine and Mutzig at Robbo's
The bars provide great entertainment after dinner or straight off the mountain, each with a different atmosphere to suit whatever mood you are in. Some are typically French, and others are geared up towards the tourists and seasonnaires trade, but the drinks are usually reasonably priced.
Bar RobinsonThis popular après ski bar cafe is conveniently located on the Rue du Bourg, one of the main streets through Morzine town centre. Owned and run by an older, very friendly, French couple Bar Robinson (Robbo’s) is a well known drinking spot, especially for seasonnaires after the last lifts. The café is traditionally French, as is the decor, and the atmosphere is enhanced due to the no-music policy. The only beer on tap is Mutzig, well known for being strong (the actual strength is still a mystery) and is only consumed in a demi (half pint). The bar café opens daily throughout the winter from 7am until 8pm with last orders strictly at 7.30pm.

Each restaurant has its own unique and delicious menu with a vast selection of mountain dishes. Traditional ones you will see repeatedly throughout restaurants include raclette, fondue and tartiflette.
There are many bistros and pizzerias with great value-for-money set menus which are ideal for families or large parties.
Popular restaurants include La Flamme, Le Clin D’Oeil, Cafe Chaud, L’Etale, and La Chamade. It is advisable to book a few days in advance where possible, especially if you are dining on a Wednesday night as this is often the chalet hosts and seasonnaires’ night off.
